DEALING WITH YOUR OWN INNER CRITIC

Our inner critic can be a real BIT*H and a deeply damaging force. When transforming yourself mentally and physically, it’s important to deal with these thoughts.

For some individuals, it can LEGIT start out to be that very quiet voice, then left undealt with, gets loud AF!! It’s strength and impact will determine our overall mental wellbeing.

So, What are Some Ways to Silence Your Own Inner Critic?

Sometimes it can be difficult to recognize the thoughts that are getting in the way of you moving forward. So if you’re struggling to sort out your inner critic, try this:

  • Take time to pause acknowledge your emotions.

  • On one side of a piece of paper, write down what your inner critic says (which tends to be critical and irrational).

  • One the other side of the paper, write a self-compassionate and rational response for each thing you wrote on the other side of the paper.

Takeaway message, being hard on yourself and beating yourself up isn’t helpful. In fact, it might be one of the reasons why you’re stuck where you are today.

You can silence your inner critic and dim its power over you by becoming more mindful and compassionate.

When you learn how to limit self-criticism, you automatically offset its control on you. This then allows you to break-free,achieve your highest potential, and find more contentment in your life.
